Support for Ontario’s Health and Social Service Workers During COVID-19

Dear PeerWorks Community, 

We wanted to do something a little different this week as our NewsToGo Team steps back to navigate a new environment and supporting our community through COVID-19 becomes an increased priority. 

PeerWorks is an organization dedicated to amplifying the voice of lived experience within mental health and addiction. Our members are individuals working in peer support, Consumer/Survivor Initiatives and Peer Support Organizations across Ontario. We stand with peer support workers across sectors and work to build community through the sharing of experiential skills and knowledge. 

This is an unprecedented and challenging time in history, with constantly evolving events, headlines and policies. It is particularly challenging for those working on the frontlines of social services and health. 

As such, we aim to support this community in a time of increased risk and uncertainty by equipping them with adequate resources about COVID-19. 

Like most organizations, we’ve been focused on the health and well-being of our members. Yet we realize that beyond our membership there exists a wider community in need of resources and support. 

Our team is committed to providing regular updates about changes that impact those in the social service and health space and resources for personal safety, community support and self-care.
